Looking through some pix from a local race and noticed this dude on a husky. WTF is up with the street cloths?
Our local HS series (WYNOA) had a guy we called "Farmer Dave".... jeans, fannel shirt, work boots and an open face helmet. The guy was quite the rider and evryone cheered him on. He even got some pics on the GNCC site, as Unadilla is a co-sanction with our series. He quit riding our series, as they first made him get riding boots and then told him an open face helmet was not safe. Too bad, nice guy.
One would think that the guy in front of him would be in stret clothes because his bike cost $1000 more and he did not get another $1000 off in feb to april! Hence he had $2000 lss to spen on riding gear...............maybe the guy is an executive for AIG and had bonus bucks??????? Joe
That is pretty strange. He even tucked his shirt in and wore a belt. Yee-haw! I'd guess he showed up not intending to ride, but the opportunity presented itself so he grabbed a helmet, gloves and goggles and gave it hell. I like the big guy on the XR tackling the log section while the skinny dude on the pretty new bike is pushing.
Looks like he's patiently waiting for Mr KTM sport'in the Sidi's to get out of his way so he can mosey on down the track. He also seems to be rather unperturbed that said Mr. KTM is force feeding him copious amounts of soil.
Those are really great shots Dean.... I hope if and when I reach that age.... I'm still able to hit the MX track the look on 87's face says it all.........totally priceless
I think its awsome !. The first pic. he has boots, gloves and helmet and googles on. Jeans and a Flanel shirt dont scare me , would you laff at him if he had a pair of Carhart bibs and a choar coat? I cant say what he has on is any less protective than $300 worth of pants and a jersey? Word to the Man. My hats off to him !! Same as the other old school guys.
If 10 guys sign on for it, i will take it on. Kinda fits with Husky if ya think about it. Maybe contact TLD and see if we can get full on Cafe Husky race jerseys with flannel plaid background? Ten of ya dare to be differnt?
Count me in, I dare to be different. It's not that I do not have any pride, I just don't give a crap.
