I had a spare fuzeblock from another project, and I decided to install on the TE310. The fuzeblock has an integrated relay, you just have to to tap into a switched power source, so I thought this would be an easy way to wire up to the heated grips, and allow other power goodies such as Vision's LED aux lights, a power cable for Garmin 60csx, and anything else I might need to power (low voltage, of course).

I mounted on the battery using industrial strength velcro, and wrapped the sides with silicon tape to help improve water protection. It fits nicely under the seat, and I just need to remove two screws to the posts to remove for filter service. I'll post pics later, but was curious if anyone else had installed a fuzeblock on their TE.

I've only seen one installation, which was placed behind the number plate, but it rains a lot where I live and I wanted a location with slightly better water protection.

Sounds interesting Hudson, I would like to see some photos. This year I want to install heated grips and a GPS. This job of yours could be a great assist on how I undertake the task.

    Cheers

    Will post photos tonight

I'll take a few pics tonight and post. Only thing left is to find the correct switched wire near the headlight to tap into for the relay (which triggers the switched power on fuzeblock).

Any ideas before I go getting out the multitester?

    Pix of the fuse block

Here are some pics of the fuzeblock install.

Pictured on the right side above are the main 3 leads: ground(black), power(red), and switched power (blue). The ground and hot leads are very short runs of wire to the battery terminal (which also has leads for the battery tender piglet). I made the install look more decent by adding red and black heatshrink on the wires.

Then I ran the blue relay wire and a 4-wire conduit (2 hot, 2 ground) from the fuzeblock to the front of the bike, I ran the blue wire up to the front of the bike to tap into a switched power lead (e.g. headlight). To make it look nice and durable, I enclosed the wiring in nylon braid and ran it alongside the existing wiring loom on the right side of the bike, and wrapped the part near the radiator with high temp silicon tape to prevent risk of the wire insulation melting.:

One set will be used for GPS power for a Garmin 60 series, and the other set will likely power a set of the Vison Soltice LED aux lights. Both are run on switched power so I don't accidentally drain the battery. You can see the excess wire and relay wire sticking out, which I will trim and attach to the power leads from the Garmin and LED 's.
