G'day folks, Rob here Picking up my new TR650 Terra this weekend! After seeing ride reviews and reports I took one for a test ride on the weekend. I have a 1991 XT600E so the TR feels smooth as silk in comparison. I know nev from round abouts and have ridden with him in New Zealand. He pointed me in this direction, and wow, there is a lot of good info and some mighty fine fabrication going on. Great to see people getting in and designing their own mods. My First ride is going to be a few hundred kays through my neighbourhood, the Tamar Valley in Tasmania. Looking forward to it! Rob
Welcome Rob, Congrats on your new ride. Post up when you get er and show her off. Did some searching of your neighbourhood...looks like a very nice place.
Thanks Husky Dude, vineyards and wineries all over. I'll have to pick a nice spot of some of the scenery.... With bike in of course!!!
G'day rob Welcome good to see another terra in Terra Australis yep you shore have found the best place to get info. I got to get down that way one day (Cradle Mountain, The roads!& Thylacines!) It would have to be summer. johnb
Cheers, johnb. Make sure you do take the opportunity to come down if you get it, and make sure you spend 1-2weeks minimum, Tassie has lots more to offer than a 3 day flying lap that a lot of people figure will be enough
Hi all I too am picking up my bike to this weekend (hopefully), moving up from a Cagiva Mito of all things... Decided on the Strada as most of my commute is highway and I thought the ABS may come in handy Plus it was on sale cheaper than the Terra by $500 First decent ride hopefully will be down to Port Arthur (long sweeping bends and some forestry side roads) Will be so nice to have a bike that I dont need to rev the arse off to get anywhere and the fact the family jewels aren't getting squashed into tank during hard braking
Welcome to the cafe Rob, good to have another Aussie here. I spent two weeks riding Tassie a few years ago, and it is DirtBike Paradise!!! Very jealous that you get to ride that place all the time, enjoy the Terra!
Thanks guys, and G'day Spicy Plenty of good roads close to you and the right side of Hobart to get access to Port Arthur and the East Coast pretty quickly. I think I spotted one other guy from Hobart way on here already too with a Terra. Heard the Hobart dealer had sold about 10 of them by Agfest. Might have to start a club?
Sorry Rob to busy riding..... They do seem to be selling like hotcakes. Just wish it was a bit warmer at the moment. But its seems I've made the right choice with the bike. Just can do so much with them. View attachment 26660
