Hi all. Sorry for being a bit thick but have not changed the gearbox oil on my WR yet (not ridden it more than 20 mins since picking her up in March!). I have my first race coming up some want to get her ship shape. I have the owners manual and it say 0.70 imperial gallons which doesn't mean anything to me as we use ml in the UK and can't find a conversion tool on Google. Any tips on filling the gearbox on the 08 WR250?

    Thanks as always

    Myles

I have 2006 wr 250 (same engine as yours) and I use 0,8 litres of gearbox oil.

You sure it says gallons? That would be a pretty bad typo. :) Should say 0.7 quarts.

In any case, it's about 0.7-0.8 liters, but the important thing is to fill it until it comes out the oil level check oil on the clutch side. That matters more than the exact quantity.

Hi.. My mistake it was 0.7 qts !. Thanks for the tip re the viewing hole. I did wonder if that was an option as there doesn't appear to be anywhere on the cases to indicate an amount (as per Yamaha etc).

    Thanks again all.

Hi - one last question. Anyone know the socket size for the drain bolt under the motor?. Discovered I don't have the right size in my toolkit but don't want to guess before heading to the shops to get a new socket. Many thanks guys
