Can you say déjà Vu? Can you say SUX! Unbelievable! Went from 'almost holeshot' to broken collar bone in less than 5 minutes…same as last year, same place, same ugly start to the season. I'm not a real superstitious guy, but WT*? Works been crazy; haven't been here much, just reading and helping when I can. As you can tell from the statement above this is not going to be very positive report, but it is what it is. We will be back! 2013 TXC250R was prepped and ready for battle… Rider was prepped and ready for battle… Bike is Rippin'! The '4 Stroke A lites' class is stacked this year, knew it was going to be a 'shooting for a top 5 finish year'; which he was ok with. We skipped Florida and the General is our usual kickoff place. At race time on Sunday almost 75 degrees and fairly warm for us northern people. 22 bikes on row 5; came off the line good, 1st to the corner and 2nd to the holeshot stripe. RacerTV has the whole race on video... http://racertv.com/2013/03/17/general-bikes-gncc-live Andy's 4 Stroke A Lites start is right after the 16 minute mark...little mention for him and Husky! Real short story line here…5 minutes later you could see them come onto an open section before they headed back out…watched his class go by; no Andy. Couple of minutes later he came thru just idling alone, pulled in and that was that. Cased some ditch he didn't see in the dust, put him over the handlebars. Broke it right at the end of the plate from last year, not real sure where we go from here… BUT; Got to thank the Sponsors! Great team this year! Toy Tech Cycles, Husqvarna NA, FLY Racing, Works Enduro Rider, Cycra, RK Excel, Pro Circuit, CV4 and MAXXIS Tires
Man, that blows. Really hate to hear that. I was all excited when I saw the race report, but it wasn't what I expected. Well, all I can say is hang in there and get well soon.
I was watching the live coverage and saw Andy get that great start, kept looking in the results and didn't see him coming around. Sorry to hear about an injury Get well soon but mostly get all the way healed before starting back.
Yikes. Sorry, a standard collarbone is pleanty painfull, that will require un-hardwaring at least, might as well re-hardware while in there. Looks like it broke at the last screw.....
Man, sorry to hear this. Hope he heals up soon, but take the time to heal up right. That bike sure looks awesome........
Sucks big time ... Get a dozer and fix that part of the track ... Get well soon Andy ... Is he wearing shoulder pads? I've got a beatup old chest protector that has very big shoulder pads just to protect my shoulders ... Its hot to wear but I don't care...
Bummer!! I was wondering why I couldn't find him in the live stream. Hope to see you guys at the NE Husky gathering.
