    If they were leading the pack with FI in 2002, that rascal Gary Jones went and undid it by putting a stock 40mm Kehin flatside on the bike. What article are you guys reading? The one you linked to was written ten years ago, before Nicky Hayden ever turned a wheel in Moto GP.
