Well I spend most of today riding with the Golden Tyre 523 Rocky. I used a 110/100/18 with a used moose felt like about 10 or so pounds. Had it mounted up to my Husky WR 250 with stock 13/48 gearing. I rode a little of everything and a lot of super rocky stuff both loose and hard rock surface. For what I was doing it was really a great tire, it worked better then the 333 which was a 19 I had already tested. To get the 333 to hook up like the 523 was I had to run about 5psi and remember it is a 19 . The 523 Rocky might not last as long as the 333 in a full on race. But for what most of us ride the 523 Rocky is a great match up to the now famous 216AA Fatty front we all seem to love.
I went off looking for even harder stuff to ride in and the 523 just kept working. I went places that were like King of the Moto where I had tested the 216 sticky rear with a drilled mouse that was like a 5 psi tire. A 216 sticky is good for about 75 miles at best then it is done. But boy what a fun 75 miles as long as there are no high speed sections. The 523 never let me down and just seemed to grab traction everywhere. Even at high speed and in the sand sections. At the end of the day it showed some ware but had many more days left in it. Where as a 216 sticky rear would have been bald.
I plan to race the next National H&H with the 523 Rocky. I have been looking for a good Golden all around rear tire, one that will work well with the 216AA Fatty upfront.
I heard Zip Ty only has a hand full of these tires until the next container shows up. Monday I plan to order another one I believe anyone who tries one will give it the same thumbs up as the 216 Fatty got from everyone.

Glad you are posting results of all your testing of the various GT's. Appropriate mousse for each helps too as I realize the fatty requires some custom packing. Tips on mousse customizing for each tire for preferred pressures helps a lot too. Having installed my first mousses with good results, next season will revisit the GTs and the fatty and all your advice will be very helpful

I just wanted to find a Golden Rear that would work as well as the 216AA Fatty Front So far like I posted for what most of us do the 523 Rocky rear has been working well. I do not ride track and from what most people post on here neither do most of you . Seems most like to ride single track in the hills. Well most hills have rocks so here is a tire that works in those areas. I found that since it was working so well I was off trying it in even harder area that with my old tire I might have thought twice about. I really will know for sure after the Vikings National next month in Luceren Valley. There are so many tires to pick from and so many types of thread and rubber compounds it would take for ever to try them all
It just seems in Europe the # 1 tire of chose is Golden and the riders and races I like to follow all seem to be using them. I do care for motocross so why purchase a tire that was design for that
