TE/TC Good Luck Finding 2021 2t Bikes

So, for those of you who don't live under the oppressive CARB laws of California, you probably haven't heard that this is the last model year that will be allowed to have a registration. After '22 and beyond they might pass something that will allow you to compete with a competition style machine but that's not certain and Sacramento will certainly mess that up.

So I thought I had better start looking for something. That turned into days of online searching and calls. Alas, except for a couple of 300s that may or may not be spoken for, all of the TE250 and 150 machines are gone, dealers allotments are either already gone or spoken for. I found a demo bike up north, but the dealer said he's pulling the ad because he's going to keep it. According to my research as of yesterday there were 3 TE250i bikes left in the entire US!

So, it looks like I'm going to stay with spicy Italian. I finally found a Beta250RR Race Edition and quickly plopped down the deposit. It's sitting in a container somewhere off the coast probably closer to me now than when I go pick it up in Utah sometime this summer.

If you have a '20 or'21 Husky and live in a state without living brain donors at the helm, you might think about putting them up for sale and offering shipping. You can probably get just about anything you want from the right buyer and treat yourself to a '22.

There are some 300s at my local Husqvarna dealership.

I think the 300s are much more popular than 250s so they build a lot more. The dealers I spoke with got between 2 and 4 250i bikes for the year. If it wasn't for the fact I've been racing lightweight class for so many years, I might have just gone for a 300.

John, I absolutely loved how nice and light your bike was to ride. In fact of it wasn't for the chance to get the Race Edition, I had a dealer in Chico that I am still waiting to hear back from who has a 200RR coming in. It's only 211lb with the oil injection system and I would probably take that off right away.

Yep TM is cool and Sherco is also different and sexy, but with the US HQ for Beta here in California, I know I'll have excellent parts support.

I'm specifically looking for a 250 or maybe a 200. That's what makes it tough. 300s are much more popular so they are produced in greater numbers. I have some feelers out with some industry help to see if I can get one here in California.

I'm also trying the Sherco route with a nearby dealer. He says the French Factory wants to try and make the dealer buy a bunch of other bikes they don't want to get more two strokes. I'm not giving up on getting something.

Don't worry, New York will be next. The NY Govt gets jealous when California regulates freedoms and toys before they do.
