When I got my 610 I did not worry too much about the astronomical seat height, because I knew the bike can be easily lowered by adding a link. So I went ahead and ordered one from Carl's Cycle (carlscycle.com) got the koubalink, and let it sit for over a month without installing it, as other obligations took priority.

Just this past weekend I finally get around to it, and realized that the previous owner had jacked the preload all the way up, and all I needed to do was crank it down to a reasonable level, and raise the fork tubes in the clamps, and the seat height is now fine for me. That means I no longer need the koubalink.

So I read the Carl's Cycle returns policy, which clearly says no returns after 30 days, and then there is a 20% restocking fee. I emailed them and apologized for placing the order in error, and asked if I may return the link for 80% of what I paid. Considering I waited so long, I would have been happy if they took the link back for the 80%. They replied that as long as I didn't ding the koubalink, I can return it for a full refund.

That rocks. I just had to put a good word in for them.

Now that the attitude of a successful business who by word of mouth etc. gets to keep existing customers and attract new ones. Well done Carl's Cycles.
