fast1 you a banker or do ya just rob 'em???!!! :p man that a lot of top shelf two wheelers.

i gave up on road after 35 years or so...been hit too many times. had a custom Orbea Zonal Voop, one of the first here- no serial #. woof that bike was fast. was clocked going down the Hawthorne Blvd drop here in PV at 59 mph...through a sweeper. miss that bike.

Have never had my roadie at that speed but it does fly.. I've been cycling since the early eighties back when Greg Lemond lived in Minneapolis and us locals would draft him while he was motorpacing. I can't imagine how fast I would have been with that Scott back in the 80's but financially I was only able to afford something that retailed less than $800..

Being hit sucks.. had it happen once and ended up going end over end after a car side-swiped me back in the 90's. Had the brake lever puncture my lower abdomen besides the road rash.. Definitely like riding away from the cages though.. I'm much more cautious in my older age. I did get some fantastic prices on my bikes so it did feel like I robbed em in a way..

my last one was huge- crushed pelvis, shoulder, knee, etc...almost killed me so i dont ride pavement on moto or pedal anymore. i had my day in the sun on big pack rides, taking pulls, holding up traffic, getting tickets et al. lol. i miss the pack rides and the dues ya gotta pay to get in one. elite roadie's are tight and dont let just anyone in for a reason. lives are literally at stake. all it takes is one doof not paying attention at 30 mph in the flats and it's all fall down with busted bones and $$$$ in hardware gone. i loved going off the front, attacking, pacing, taking pulls with 150 others behind ya beating the drum with them lil 21mm tires singing on the pavement. what a rush.

excellent score. scott is top level stuff. my goodness them's is nice rides! scott invaded the industry and claimed it. can't go wrong with their stuff.

I see you like building up your bikes which I also enjoy. I would not rely on any mechanic to do my builds or maintenance, just feel better at speed on a bike when I know that everything was done right. I've even spent some time building up road wheel sets back when sew-ups were so popular.. goes back a few years.. quite a few. Ran radial front spoke patterns with triple cross on the drive line and radial on the other side in the back.. lots of experimenting with spoke gauge, nipple composition, tension, lubricants ect.. even adapted the Campy record hubs which were sporting superb bearing races and balls ... trickle down stuff from tour bikes back in the late 80's.

Now if I could just figure out a way to give me that 25 to 30 years of age internal engine I once took for granted.. really what I miss most. Hey I'd still take a ride with old Greg just to give him a 25 year reminder

Glad to see there are some other peddlers on here! After 20 years of racing MTBs I suppose its time to exercise my wrist as well as my gams so now I have to learn how to ride my Husky fast like the bikes!
