Does anyone know what material grip doughnuts are made from? I go through them like crazy and they save me from those nasty thumb blisters.

Maybe you could fashion some with ballistic nylon covers, so they won't wear out so fast.:D

Ever tape your thumbs? I use to do that, then went to ProGrip 788 grips and I don't have much problem with blisters on my hands at all.

I used to use duct tape on my thumbs and worked great. Now, I've adjusted my grip to be more like how I grip a doorknob and everything is better and I no longer get the blister on my thumb.

I use those Kevlar "underware" inserts and throttle thumb blisters are a thing of the past.......even with all the frequent twisting I do on a 125.

I've been wondering if these things actually work. I can't figure out why after riding for so many years I get my first thumb blister the other day on the Husky. We did some pretty knarly single track, but nothing I haven't done before on this bike. I got one on the big knuckle of my clutch hand and it annoyed the heck out of me. I assumed with the callouses and the way I grip it's never been an issue for me, but for some reason that day. :excuseme:

I always wondered why all the pros tape their hands like little sissy's. I figured they must just have sensitive hands.
