• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Gusher GNCC; on the truck early...

I know some follow along; bike issue, no injury. Waffled this early at one of the farthest points out on the track, brand new Supersprox.

Good day for Husky overall, the Delong boys made a great showing.

Too bad there ... Makes that hub look really strong as it did not break off an ear or something ...

That's a steel \ ALUM combination sprocket?

These days it takes one heck of a load to bend a sprocket like that. did the bike come up and land/fall directly on a rock? Like Ray Ray said, thank god it did not damage your Al. hub flange, at least from the picture it appears to have survived.

Another great ride for the DeLongs, sure woulda loved to see AD on a 310 next year but it's not to be.....but who knows.

Yes, the Supersprox has an outer steel ring thats riveted to an inner alum setup, pretty strong. But this is the second one he's bent...

The story goes something along these lines...'I got into a fast downhill swapper and the bike came around and clipped a rock and stopped pretty quick...I went flying on down the hill, lucky nothing was in my way'. By the marks on sprocket it took a direct side hit with all the weight of the bike swinging around, didn't stand a chance. I did pull the sprocket and check the hub/spokes/rim over; all is good and it did take a pretty good hit!

When your rider is overdue it's nice to be able to go the command center and tell them the last you saw him was mile marker 3 and he has not been back in which is mile marker 8, have them get in radio contact with the EMT's, trail sweepers and track workers and get feedback…first thing was no EMT's had been called for.

It took about 30 minutes but it was good to hear, they found him, rider OK, were going to get him out and back to the truck. Thank you and cool; now I can go watch the finish!

Hats off to the GNCC crew they have their act together.
