I have 1 1/8" handlebars and I need some handguards. I've researched and found that both the SW-motech and BarkBusters come with hardware to mount on the OEM 7/8" bars. I realize that I can just buy these and then spend even more money on 1 1/8" hardware, but I'd rather not do that. I see that one person (BigDog) put Cycra handguards with triple tree side mounts to keep the handlebar area free. I like the idea of that, but I'm worried that those big handguards will act like sails on the highway at speed. I had bad luck with Zeta handguards on my previous CRF250L with this issue. Is the triple tree side mount a better option than going back to the handlebar?
If on a budget try these, I have a set and they fit nice and good and sturdy. I think they are like Acerbis. These work great on mine, but did have to bush up the inside mount to grab the tapered bar. You might have em by Christmas if you order today. http://www.ebay.com/itm/400336876745?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
