Well, today was my first official MX race thanks to the generous support of Ajax Auto who lent me his Husky 250. Was super fun to watch all the different classes and smell the premix in the air. The pro class racing was a treat and the minis were something else. I'm not ashamed to admit that these guys on 85cc screamers were fast and fearless and would have beaten any of the guys in my class. The future is bright. Gotta say that if it wasn't for the Cafe and the awesome friends I've met here, I'd be watching and reading about racing rather than doing it. Thanks again John!
Kids at the local gp/hare scramble series are always jumping past me lol. That was awesome of John. Really cool that you got a new racing experience. Wheres the gopro?
Well that was my once a year adventure into the world of motocross. There is no way this desert racer can run with the local moto experts but at least i try. I try to go to the 2 stroke Nationals every year it is fun to watch the pro race. There was also a laretta Lynn Qualifier mixed into the 2 stroke race so there was really a lot going on. There were 14 races today. Which then only gave us a 8 min. practice and 2 twelve maybe fourteen min. motos . So i was there at 7am and left at 4.30 pm along day. In the first pro moto some guy on Kaw 500 took everyone to school only to blow a shock toward the end which gave him a DNF. Zip Ty Racing Dalton Shirly on a super nice TE 300 ran well and finished like 5th In the second pro moto the guy on the Kaw 500 ruled the day with colton Hacker on a Husky right behind him but on the last lap the husky got a rear flat and still finished 2nd. Dalton got a really bad start and had to work from like last up to about 7th for the second moto. I will return next year and try again. For me I love a 100 mile rocky, nasty, dusty, dirty, single track offroad race where you get to race for hours Next National for me will be Rd 4 of the NHHA in Johnson Valley 100 plus miles of good old desert. Will return to Glen Helen in June for Last dog Standing and try to see how far I can go
In the first pro moto some guy on Kaw 500 took everyone to school only to blow a shock toward the end which gave him a DNF. It was Sean Collier winner of the last 2, 2 stroke championships on the same FMF/Dave Simon YZ250, he was the fastest guy on the track this on that KX500 he went 32-1.
I wasn't there, but I'm almost positive my favorite bike would have been the first one on this page. Other than Ajax's 250 OG husky that is. haha. http://motocrossactionmag.com/home-page/rumors-gossip-unfounded-truths-just-the-gist-of-it-all
BLUE BLING RULES OVER ALL ELSE!!! Nice to see your stuff as part of a bullet proofing race team effort!!
He raced the opener at Nationals last year and got 12th. For a field tech/water treatment guy out of Fontana Sean Collier is pretty fast.
