    Hello All,

I have a 2010 TE 250 that has recently been experiencing some problems. After a day of riding in some terrain above my experience level, many stalls and spills later, the bike started to hiccup and bog down a lot before stalling. Our first thought was that the fuel pump went because the bike will start up with a kick (electric start isn't really working anymore, maybe part of the issue?) and after anywhere from 5-20 seconds the fuel light will come on and then the bike starts to hiccup and eventually die. So I installed a new fuel pump, fuel filter, and a new battery. She starts up and is running fine. My friend and I go out to ride, I dump her a few times on a hill and then she starts acting up again.

Since then I have taken out the fuel pump again to make sure everything is installed correctly and all hoses and clamps are tight and also checked spark plug, valves, and timing. Everything seems to be alright. What seems strange to me is that the bike runs fine when it starts until the fuel light comes on and then it starts to have problems.

Anybody have any clue what is going on here?

Did you check the fuel tap and screen in the tank? If it’s still a problem, You should be able to pull the hose from the fuel tap to the carb, open the tap and get a full 12 ounces to flow freely from it. If not, your problem is around the tap.
