So after my lovely "get-off" at Easter that broke my collarbone, I have finally gotten around to trying to fix my bike. I thought the muffler was just a little bent at the frame mounting point and that it would be a simple case of bending it back and I would be done: Today I took it off though and realised it was not that simple. Looks like one of the rivets holding the piece connecting the header to the can has popped and that is where the "bend" is. So this is where I'm looking for help. Can you guys confirm that all I need to do is drill out the remaining rivets, re-insert the cap into the can (which I can't do at the moment in spite of taking the rubber mallet to it) and rivet it again? While the muffler is off, can anyone tell me if mufflers off other TE450's or TE510's (2008 and 2009) fit my 2010 TE 450?
no expert but thats what id probably do if i was to try and fix it, looks like the only way youd be able to.
Thanks mate. Went and got myself a riveter this morning and gave it a go. Ended up being a piece of cake My repair list is getting much smaller now as I get closer to being able to ride again!
