Well, after riding around in the rainy weather I deceided to take advantage of the sunshine and wash my bike. Before I washed it the bike was running fine; after washing it the fuel pump didn't prime when I turned on the ignition:doh:. I checked the kill switch, and tried again.....no pump. I tried the start button, and the bike fired right up, and that has me really confused:confused:. I didn't think it could run without the fuel pump working?
    So, I started to troubleshoot......
I checked the fuses (all that I could find), and they were all OK
I jumpered the fuel pump and it worked fine
I checked the three relays on the left side of the bike, and they were all OK.
So, now I'm not sure what else to check. Im trying to warm up the garage and make sure there isn't water in any connections. I suspect it is the ECU, but that is just a random guess.
does anyone have any suggestions on what/how to trouble shoot next?
The bike is an 08 610 TE with about 1500 miles
    thanks

Wet connectors is about all I can think of. If the bike fired right up, what is the problem? You didn't hear the pump prime?

Yea, the pump didn't prime, and I am assuming that means the pump wasn't working.
I noticed the neutral light was flashing, four flashes, then a break, then four flashes, over and over again. Does that mean something?
I wound up unplugging the ECU, and plugging it in several times, and it eventually started to work:thinking:. Im not sure why, maybe it has a loose wire or something. Its getting late so I'll have to mess with it more tomorrow.

    normal

I have an F.I. WR-250R that does the same thing. Sometimes the pump doesn't need to prime. When it needs to prime, it will self-prime and you will hear it. This is normal.

Loose wire, double check the wires to the fuel pump and make sure they are all secure.

I had a problem similar to yours. I was riding around and all of the sudden my just stop running. I turn the key on and I couldnt hear the pump prime. So I trouble shot everthing and then got to the fuel pump. There was the black wire was disconnected on the fuel pump. Try that.

I am not 100% positive, but I think it was a loose pin in the connector to the ECU. I wound up unplugging the ECU, and trying to push the pins all the way in. Since then it has been priming when the ignition is turned on, and running like a champ. In fact I think it has been running better than before, so maybe one of thoes pins/wires was not all the way in.
All that matters is that I am able to ride again!:ride:
    thanks for the help!
