Bough a husky 610sm from 2008 and wanted to add HID on it.
I do not want to use the TrailTech X2 as I do not find traillight too appealing ( especially for a supermoto).

I see many post on link below about HID/610/630 but more I read...more I get confused.

Especialy since I just want to upgrade an enduro taillight with HID.

I eard there are plenty of bad HID conversion kits out there so more not sure where to start.
Also, I saw a post where an important question was asked about this ( can the stock electronics handle a 55W bulb? ) but no answer yet (http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/new-guy-with-a-new-to-me-te610.25803/#post-238542 ).

Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge about this.

    Wait, what? :p

I tried a H4 HID conversion in my stock 630 housing and wasn't impressed, so I put back the Silverstar and added two aux 2000 lumen LED pods in the tank shrouds tied into the high beam with a relay, now this thing puts out as much light as my 350Z.

I put an HID kit from DDM Tuning http://www.ddmtuning.com on my Ducati 748 and my daughters 1999 Audi A4. I used a 35W light on the 748 and 55W on the Audi. Great luck with them and the ballasts are very slim. Been several years and no problems yet.

Here's an after pic from the Ducati. You can compare that to my avatar before the install.

That's the same brand and 35w I used in my Husky, but I think the downfall of the H4 conversion compared to the single-output bulbs is that the emitter shakes and wiggles on low-beam because the solenoid is de-energized and not holding pressure on the emitter. Even worse since it was on a big single cylinder...
Also, it was plenty bright, but the beam pattern absolutely sucked, so I tried shimming the bulb flange, trimming the emitter shield, REMOVING the shield (which still didn't give me any more throw) and nothing seemed to work.

    Hi All,

Thank you all for sharing your knowledge and experiences.

A friend of mine with a real mechanic background and a great motorcycle understanding, is fitting the headlight I choose ( HEADLIGHT UFO STEALTH BLACK - http://www.moto-eshop.com/1099-1197-large/-stealth-black.jpg ).

He has been inquiring where possible about what works best and if I am not wrong, he end-up buying a generic HID kit and managed to fit it with no major issues.

I will show some picture soon and will provide an more extensive explanation about what we used.
Again..thank you all for your replies.
