Quite a few guys at the Husky Gathering asked me about my hand guards. I thought I'd just post a few photos and a quick description of them in case someone didn't know about them. The guys at HDB do more than these guards so take a peek if you're interested. http://www.highwaydirtbikes.com/HDB_Shop/

The previous owner installed these Highway Dirt Bike handguards with integrated LED turn signals and mirrors. They are slick as snot and extremely beefy. I'd recommend them to anyone. HDB has guards without the signals/mirrors if you don't want that.

Here's the guard with the mirror tucked into the guard

Here's the mirror extended into street position. There is adjustment for up/down/fore/aft and twist without using tools. Very slick design.

Here's the view of the front with the mirror tucked in

and one with the mirror extended

Here's one of the upper clamp that you can get from them. It shows how the aluminum guards integrate into the upper clamp. Very, very beefy design

And one of the whole setup from the cockpit

I highly recommend these for anybody riding the woods or street. Really high quality, super bright LEDs and slick design.

I have heard alot good things about HDB stuff and it looks nice. But what can you do if you want a steering damper?

I don't know why you couldn't install a damper with this. Am I missing something?

Looks like a very good idea for mirrors ... ESP for a guy like me who has a stiff neck ...

Whats that other little devices mounted in the upper inside corner of the plastic covers on each side ? ... Blinkers?

EDIT: I see it is blinkers as in your first post ...

    Love mine!

I went down on pavement almost 2 months ago and ground up my HDB guards pretty badly. HDB sent me replacement parts at very little cost (i.e. darn near free).

They are awesome and remain so after I've beat the heck out of them. Got a motosportz dampener on my set up as well. No problem.

I have the "Scotts" on my TE310 with the BRP risers. The HDB stuff is tough stuff but pricy. I added a small rubber grommet behind my mirrors to cut down on the vibration in the mirrors, works well.

The only problem I have with mine is that even though it has a ball/socket type pivot. I can't get the right angle for viewing. I guess it doesn't really matter. It's just to be street legal.

Nice. I want to do the same on my TE310. Can you provide any detail on the plugs you used to cap the stock mirror threads? Thanks.

Sorry, but the bike came to me that way. They look like something you could buy at Lowes.

get a 5/16" plug from Orchard Supply

You can also get perch mounted switches from highwaydirtbikes which would replace the entire caps.

Anybody have these on a 2012 TE310? I'm curious what size you need to fit, and whether they needed to be drilled out prior to tapping. Also, HDB says for the newer Husky's you have to replace the lower clamps as well.
