Well, am now planning on keeping the 510 until at least the completion of the Desert 100 event on April 10-11th. I want to take it to this event, but it's got a Pirelli MT43 trials tire on the back, which probably won't do well in that environment .

What I'm considering is to use the stock tire (Enduro Comp III 120/90) from the TXC 250 on the 510. The EC is just sitting on a shelf now thanks to Motosportz's Motoz Tractionator S/T. I don't remember the size of the stock tire that came on the 510. Do you all think it would work for a desert type ride? I plan on keeping the Pirelli on the shelf in case the Motoz ever wears out:D

the EC might be a bit on the small size for that 510. you might burn through your traction and that added weight might make it handle funny in corners.

then again it might work great!

Yeah, I'm trying to be cheap. I believe the 510's original tire was a 140/? EC III. It worked fine for 400 miles of Baja with about half the knobs remaining at the beginning of the ride. The Baja ride finished it off! Didn't know if the 250's EC size would be worth trying in a desert environment on the big bike. I'm not at a skill level where it should matter that much, just don't want any huge surprises due to a misfit on a rear tire. I should probably just splurge for a Motoz I/T, they aren't very expensive.
