Hole Under Kickstarter Gear

Hi Guys,
Is this hole supposed to be there underneath the starter gear?

I'm thinking no, looks like a casting failure.. I may be wrong tho.

I don't think it's a problem. I don't know what year your bike is, but here's an image from the 2009 workshop manual that appears to show a similar hole. Probably lubrication related.
