Yep but these might be at your local dealer.

    - I've ridden a CRF 270 several times and one that was right around 300cc but they still did not handle good :p

This is news in the US if they actually come street legal as the units in the pic appear to be.

The bike closest in the photo appears to be 450 based (long headpipe) while the one in the back is a 250'ish' bike ... but as Scott said HM has done this for years.

More of the same (bad word for poop) from the anti-2-stroke. Yawn. I hope the Euro manufacturers can continue to whittle away at their sales. Maybe they'll grab a clue someday.

Not sure what the deal is here. Are these bikes like the Yamaha WR 250R dual sport models ? They are street legal, but as far as I'm concerned they are way to clunky and they are heavy. If the Honda's are like the CRF 250 X platform but with an ability to plate them then I'd be liking them. My brother has one of those and it's a great bike in the woods. He just can't plate it and that's the down side to it.

What part of the world does this picture come from? The ones that can be plated seem to have an L at the end from what I have observed.

    I note the folloing
The word enduro on the swingarm but plenty of room for more gas tank up near the tripple clamps.
Radiators that stick out to the sides quite far probably no big deal in some parts of the country or riding on horse or atv/quad/four wheeler trail.
    Kick starter included
Coushioned rear hub would have to be added via aftermarket.

I'm seeing 250cc bikes here that look like these and I think they have a 'L' in their name also... I'll take a closer look but the ones here are ~heavy looking, a little more street bike oriented than trail, BUT are probably much better overall bikes than the xr200 bikes that have ruled here for quite some time ... Probably a long lasting, medium performing bike for street and trails.

Dual cans out the back are a waste ...

HM the Honda Italian importer has been building E models of the Honda CRs and CRFs since at least the early nineties.
Those models were all plateable in the EU like all the "enduro" racing bikes we get here in US from KTM, Beta, TM etc. All FIM legal enduro machines are by FIM rules street legal machines WEC and ISDE machines.
If Honda themselves build these things EPA legal for the US market (as well as worldwide) they can and will see a major sales increase. SoCal alone is the Honda fan capitol of the world, street legal CRF-Es or whatever they want to call them will sell like hotcakes in this neck of the woods. The Japanese have lagged big time in the race ready US style DS legal bike dept. Husky really re-started it, then KTM just flooded it and is the king now.

As of recently (as stated above) it looks like HM Moto is no longer in the biz of building custom converts for the EU market. But before FI was on the OEM models they had HM custom FI Honda 4 strokes that were FIM legal machines. They had 250,300,450 and 500cc 4 strokes, and before that they had all the CR 2 strokes in street legal enduro form, 125,250 and 500s.
