    I'm thinking to cut vibration. But I'm not really sure how the short arm at the rear would move with rotation.
    A lot more parts but interesting concept.
    Of course if the applied they already have a running model.

    Transfer ports on the intake side and exhaust valve(s) on the exhaust. The exhaust valve is going to be in a state of ridiculous boogie

    In the article they mention it may be for a commercial generator and not a motorcycle, we'll see.

    Spoke to an engineer friend of mine. Says crank design is not new and allows several advantages for lower RPM motors. Rod angle being one of them as well as mechanical advantage over the crank so more power is transferred.

    Two stroke diesel? At least the patent mentions the possible use of diesel...something like this in an air cooled bike/quad would be interesting.
