Just wanted to know how the sales for the new 630 TE is going in the good Old USA.

Here in South Africa--the bikes are standing on the showroom floor and the sales are not very promising. Could it just be the economy ? I want one to add to my other two Husky's--Badly.

Should i rather wait a little---

It's the economy and the fact that there are a lot of less expensive options out there.

The TE was designed for those who want performance. From what I've seen, the average dual sport rider is not aggressive and will settle on price over performance. Most who are serious about offroad tend to bleed orange, and they bleed and bleed and bleed...... However, the word is spreading on how good (and reliable) the TE610 and TE630 are.

Bike sales overall are down 40-50%. I think the 630 will do okay and hopefully things will pick up next year. We need the good dealers to be around!

Seems like it is the economy--and you are so right--hope the good dealers can ride the storm. Where i live the last Yamaha agent has closed doors ---and i live in the capital city of SA. Very bad for Yamaha

I naturally wish Husqvarna every success in the world.

On the other hand ........... I´m so glad it´s still exclusive to own one.

Seems the Husky market is the strongest in the USA.

In Europe, there seems to be very little offering for the TE 610 or TE 630 models. SM's can be found, TE's not. I believe there is one single, post 2006 model TE 610 is sale in the whole Germany at the moment, for example.

In Finland, TE is all but non-existent. Very few dealers, no models on the sales floor (except for some SM models). You're supposed to order on the basis of marketing material/spec sheets, I guess. One single demo bike available in all of Finland.

They're manufactured in Europe, then the whole lot is shipped and sold in the USA? Maybe the BMW ownership will change some of this :excuseme:

Kind of surprised at lackluster sales with this. Personally, I didn't find them very attractive to look at in all white but also have never ridden one. The dual pipes look neat. I can see the price being an obstacle compared to the Japanese offerings in smaller cc's.

I'd be interested in hearing an off-road comparison by someone who's owned or still
owns a 610 and also now has the TE630. Someone who has done a significant amount of
trail or desert riding on the two and can give some insight on which he or she prefers
in the dirt or out in the bush as our Aussie friends like to say.

    There´s a reason.

EU regulations stipulate that they have to conform to emission limits. Which means that they have to be set much too lean and hp is restricted. So only customers who are willing to break the law and install the pu kit buy a husky (or a Husaberg). Apparently Ducati had the same problem but tweaked their bikes before they left the sales room. Kawaski found out and informed the public prosecutor. So the future for European biking is truly bleak
