    Hi guys,
About two weeks ago the radiator coolant level was really low...I don't know how long it had been like that, but I check/inspect my bike (the oil, coolant level, tire pressure, chain etc) at least every weekend and I do not remember it was low last time I checked it...

Anyway, so I filled the radiator and the expansion bottle (?), that was two weeks ago and this morning when I checked it, there's no coolant in the expansion bottle. In the radiator, the coolant level is still high.
I've been riding it /commuting on it everyday this past two weeks.

So, as the tittle says how do you check to see if there's any leak either from the radiator or from one of the hoses?

In normal condition (no leak) how often do you guys have to refill the radiator?
    Thanks in advance guys,
    Bob

you rent a cooling system pressure tester at your local auto parts store be sure to get one with the little jap car adapter and pump it up and start looking whats the plug and oil look like

I just fixed a tiny hole in the back of my radiator. Coolant was pissing out all over my leg, so pretty easy to tell where it was going! A new OEM radiator is $1140!!! I fixed mine with some ultrabond, which is an aluminium brazing rod.

    Thanks guys.
Now, if the coolant runs low while in the middle of nowhere or in a place where you can not find/buy coolant, is it okay to just use water like bottled water? Back when I was a teenager..that's in the 80s..water was what I used to refill the car's radiator.

Wow, that ultrabond seems like excellent stuff for repairing radiators. Handy to know.
