I'm yanking off the forks on my SMR 511 right now (new seal time), and for the life of me, I don't see how you disconnect the speedo sensor from the fork bottom. Do I really have to trace the sensor up to the harness and unplug it there, or am I being dense?
Well, no one responded, but I figured it out. For future searchers, you unplug from behind the headlight. You don't have to take it all apart, if you're crafty and have long fingers. Once unplugged, you unscrew the sensor out of the brake caliper mount. Still more of a PITA than it needs to be, but should only take 15 minutes or so.
