I have a 95-98 TC engine which doesn't come with an oil pump, or oil filter.
Mine has both installed now. How much oil should I give it, when changing the oil and filter?
How often would you change the oil? (I only ride on the road.)

What happen if one gives an engine like that too much oil, does it just have an "overflow security" somewhere? - or will bad stuff happen?

    Thanks in advance! :-)

    Hi,

Here is manual for your bike, stock oil quantity will be there.

I change my oil after every day long ride.

Oil is relatively cheap in comparison to engine parts.

I use Belray Thumper Racing 15w/50, Synthetic Ester Blend.

It is very easy to get caught up in the advertising hype and pay too much for oil.

Too much oil you could blow seals!

    Cheers, Dave.

If you have an after market oil pump and filter the suppliers should be able to tell you how much oil. Who supplied the pump, could we have some photos please?

I would work out the amount held by the add on bits, filter , pipe work pump etc. Then add it to normal amount for a start and run it for a bit. stop it and check the oil level. Adjust to suit!

Wow someone went to a lot of thinking on that. I would probably just get the newer cases that have the oil pump in them already.

This sounds like the best route. Interesting to see how the P/O did it, but how could you possibly leave out the retro-fitment of an oil pump and filter as a selling point? lol

It also has a hydraulic clutch.
I dont know why he did not say anything about that. Dont think he knew that much about the bike. Not the last owner who did the stuff. And I diden't ask because I was (still am) a newbie :)
