How safe do you think it is to use this rear sprocket for about a week until my new sprocket and bolts/nuts arrive?

I don't think I can stay off the bike any longer, if I just torque the remaining 5 bolts and take it easy, will the sprocket survive?

I'd probably ride it, others might not.

I wouldn't go pulling any wheelies mind you.

Check the others and ride it. Don't be crazy for the next week.

No problem at all. Run it. Replace the bolt and any others that might be damaged of course.

Thanks for the input guys, it helps put my mind at ease. I just torqued the remaining 5 bolts and went for a 10 minute ride, checked them half way through and again at the end, they all seem to be staying tight for now. I'll just be sure to check them before and during my rides for the next week or so.

I just ordered a 38t rear sprocket and 6 replacement nuts and bolts from Hall's. Just need to wait for him to order the sprocket in before he can have it shipped out!

Factory SMS rear is 38. 17" wheels, remember, and we don't have the taller 5th and 6th of the TE. Mine tachs out around 110mph with stock gearing.

48T on a SMS would be stunt gearing.

interesting, stock gearing for the '03 SM was 15/45, same as the TE.

610's had the same internal gearing between them, while the 630's have a different 5th and 6th ratio between the versions, both of which are lower than the 610 internal gearing. The TE has a taller 5th and 6th than the SMS.

I'd run it. What's the worst that could happen? The sprocket breaks loose, the chain wraps around the axle, locks up the rear, and you do multiple endos down the trail. I wear full Leatt gear and read my Bible every morning. No worries, mate.

I'd ride to the hardware store and look for a similar temporary bolt to make do until reinforcements arrive. And +1 on the no wheelies.
