The video shows the feeler gauge between the cam and the rocker, this is incorrect - it should be between the rocker and the shim, and yes it makes a difference. For Top Dead Center: There are a couple of marks on my 2006 TE250's cam - one of those coincide with the cam lobes being symmetrically pointing up, a little bit towards each other, and have maximum clearance between the cam lobes and the shims.
