Looks like I sold my 300. Want to switch to a 501. My only question is how is the 501 on rd/freeway. I am not talking all day stuff, just if I had to do 5/10 miles in a pinch is it bearable/twitchy/horrible etc?

it'll do it. I rode our Demo 501S on the hwy at 75 for roughly 3 miles. I recommend balancing the wheels if you plan on making it a normal occurrence. The gearing wasn't bad although the stock gearing isn't ideal for real off-road riding in my opinion. Wasn't anymore twitchy than expected for a 250lb bike at freeway speed. bitching bike though!!(once its de-smogged).

+1 About the wheels! Put some weights on it to balance it out. Never seen wheels so far out! If you leave it it feels like riding a rocking horse....
All the rest is fine, I ride my 501 on my way to different riding spots over the road all the time. Speed on motorway here is 100km/h, no problem at all, actually reasonable comfy!

Make that +2 on the above i am very comfortable riding mine on the highway. I used the Counteract Tire Balancing Beads i found on Bike Bandit on my 449 and was very happy with the difference it made on the pavement. When I get to ride the 501 again (i broke my foot a week after I got it) i will let u know if they helped on it as well.

I've got the orange version and it's fine for 10 mile pavement sprints as long as the speeds stay in the 50's (w/ 14/50 gearing). Once speeds approach 60 then it gets buzzy and I'm not having fun anymore. And get the wheels balanced as the start hopping once you hit 45.

Mine is desmogged, uncorked, tps set to .64 and a JD tuner w/ proper settings. Bike has shit tons of power and handles incredible for such a large machine.
The seat is absolute garbage though.... I installed a seat concepts seat yesterday and its at least 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 times better.
