3+2 :Lot of infos are in vintage tech ref.
1: The 2 stroke 83 frame has a front tube "S" shaped. It need to be squash in front of head exhaust.84 wrlc frame are better, the front tube frame is right. You need to cut the left tube to let the place for the left exhaust and the kick. Or you can built a 2 in 1 exhaust.

The most problem would be at the carb, the four stroke frames of that type(itc shock white) have special modifications for more clearance up high.
I have put the four stroke engine in that frame and it appears you need quite an s shaped manifold or to modify the frame as appears from pictures I see on here.

510,s can fit the 82 and older frames...you will need a welder, and a lathe...

    I'm doing a similar project in 82 250CR frame

A Husky 510 motor fits in a 1982 250CR frame, with mods to the frame
in the rear carb/air box area as already mentioned. I have started a similar project in parallel while rebuilding my 86 510. The motor fits
in a 82 CR frame,no problems with front head pipe clearance, never got
to triple checking if i'd need to make new front motor mounts though.

While restoring my 84 500CR & KTM 495, i just reasssemblied the bike
in it's original frame but the project is now on the top of my to do list, now that the riding season is winding down.

I'll start posting pictures again with updates,in the following next few months.

I took some pictures of the motor in the frame in a older post

That's whay I said. With a 2 in 1 exhaust, no need to cut the left tube of the frame near the kick.:applause:

    Hi Kay,
thanks - superb, some questions -
    It is the exhaust stainless?
How did you do the bends? bought or mandrel bent?
is the motor 86 - I see you have milled up the inlet manifold? Or is that to suit the frame?

and normally 2 into 1 is run low (+ special airbox) to narrow the bike, will you using standard te/tc (wide) side covers?

How far along is the bike now - or that is current?

    thanks
    Sean

    Hey Sean,
exhaust is complete stainless, bends bought from a local Dealer.
Inlet manifold is milled up for the 86'motor and to suit the frame! Diameter of tubes around the cylinder 35 x 1,5mm.Tube diameter
away the collector box to silencer is 40 x 1,5mm.
83' 2-stroke Side covers from DC fits perfect at this frame, left side
cover is not to narrow exhaust tube.
    Hope the pics shown it.

Best of luck finding a motor Storm, to fit a 510 into your frame you need a straight downtube I have a 510 mono frame here in the UK that the down tube can be cutt out and welded in place of the offset one on your frame,
