Last year I decided to take the plunge and purchased a 2008 TE250, this is my first bike - needed a plated bike to keep the law off my back in the areas we ride. I love this bike and keep asking myself why did I wait so long to buy this thing. I now want more, I want a TE610 - the wide ratio trans has a lot of appeal - sorry for the rant, just thought I would post up how happy I am with this bike . . . buddies ride Yamaha, Kawasaki, and a Suzuki - might have some converts in the near future!!
'same here. Everyone needs a 610. Kinda like having your own aircraft carrier. Go wherever ya want, and then have some fun.
I caught the same fever. Last year I picked up a 08TE450 my first ever husky, I was a yamasuzihonda guy. In that order. 1st 2nd and 3rd bikes. So I got tired of the kicking on the XR4 and the Husky appealed to me dearly. After a lot of thought, talking to friends that have them and visiting George at Uptite, I had to have it. Now the 610 is very appealing, however, I decided to go the SM route. I will be the happy owner of one soon. I am a patiently waiting. I think the next one will be a two smoke after this. You can NEVER have too many Huskies in your life.
I was biten by the Husky bug last September and I brought a 08 610 home. Now I also have a WR for the Coast Range and a TE450 for the desert. Last week was spent in Death Valley with the TE Sisters and I sure didn't want to come back.
I've got it too. I want to be like HuskyDude and have a '08 TE510 and a new '09 WR125. Actually, I just need another two smoke for racing, but I'm not sure what size.
I wish this little 250 had some trade in value, lol - it would be at the dealer now with a new 610 in the garage . . . I am on a one bike budget currently! I have actually considered selling my snowmobile and getting a 610, then sell the 250 and buy a lesser sled. The 250 is a great bike and I have no regrets for buying, the 610 sounded very intimidating as a first bike. I just received some more aftermarket for the 250, new Renazco seat showed up yesterday and I just installed the Trailtech X2 from Kelly last week! Cannot wait to get back out this year, as last year was cut short by ACL surgery!
Your screen name suggests you might spend too much money on sleds. I ride sled, but season's too short for big money. Everybody should have at least two Huskys! I love my TE610E for DS and such and my WR125 for serious woods riding. Good luck with your choices.
Grew up on a sled, never had a bike until last year - the sad part is living in Northeast Ohio we end up with more miles on the truck than we do our sleds, lol! I am getting wiser as I get older, still pretty brain dead tho. I have a brand new sled in the garage that was taken apart and is now being rebuilt with all the goodies, I love to sled - but am quickly realizing bikes have a lot more potential!! We have a cabin the Allegheny National Forest, one snowmobile trail that is 300 miles give or take - 1000's of miles of dirt roads though for summer exploration (as long as you have a plate) I have recreated in the area the last 27 years and have seen more in one summer on my Husky than all 27 years combined, did I say I LOVE MY HUSKY, lol.
I picked up a TE510 on April 1st last year. In december I got the 610. They are completely different bikes. And yes you do need a 610. Best of both worlds. My problem is having enough time to ride. Good luck suffering until you get a 610.
You don't know me but I have bought some small things from you. I am the guy who was asking about the TE 450/WR Recluse Pro interchangeability. I haven't gone through the pictures yet but will do so soon. SP
