Dropped a cash down payment for a Terra back in July...yup its now allmost mid Dec and still waiting for the bike...no big deal now that the temp is hovering around the 0 deg mark. Just want my bike even if i have to go to the garage to look at it for the next 4 months. This is going to be my first Husky, allways had Suzuki 2 strokes or my last bike was a DR650. Anyways enough of my ranting...Has anyone tried to log onto Husqvarna Canada's web site. It says the account has been suspended? Was just looking for some general info but no luck. The US site is still there but thats it......Anyone have any ideas?
I'm not exactly sure as to the timing, but Husqvarna Canada has been having some problems... there are a couple of threads in the Newsroom. Here is one of them: http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/husqvarna-bmw-canada.24729/
TR next to a DR. We were playing with wind screen ideas. The DR looks like a dinosaur now..eh!. Thought you might like to see a comparo to hold you over.
lol thanks for rubbing it in man, I sold mod modded to hell DR for the deposite on the TR. I loved my 2011 DR. I had about 2G's of aftermarket performace accessories instlled on it. Everything from new TM-40 carb, Two brothers can with a fmf header.....the list goes on. I liked that old dinosaur so much that the TR has some big shoes to fill, hope im going to be happy with it. Beacause i put that DR through some pretty knarley terrain and it just kept chugging....and when i was done i rode the hwy to the nearest Tim Hortons for a coffee...I love dual purpose bikes!!!
Dealer called yesturday....Bike arrived ...just in time for -5 and snow, FAK. Oh well ill have it plated and insured just waiting for a decent day. Kinda weird that Husky dosent allow for us Canadians to use BMW financing like our neighbors to the south. They got some nice financing rates. Reading a bunch of the other threads im gona ask him to throw it on the MOSS tool before i take delivery. Any opinions on that?
First of all, Congrats! The bike is from the recent shipment and should not need to be hooked to the MOSS tool. Bring your snowmobile gear and at least try and get in a test ride if it is safe. You will notice immediately the off throttle lack of response from the earlier bikes if the problem exists. Or, if they have some space in their shop, you could clutch it from a dead stop, and if it takes off effortless, it is fine. If you have to rev past a flat spot to get it going, it needs to be hooked up. Really curious about how you are going to feel about the Terra as a DR replacement. You have been reading about the bike so you know not to beat on it until some changes are made. Even then, I think the beatings will be limited a bit compared to the DR. I had no problems replacing my BMW F650GS with this bike and I really loved it too, but I love the Terra waaaay more. I beat the crap out of the Beemer and plan to do the same with the TR, only after mod and farkle additions. Needs a little help out of the box. Tim Hortons! Isn't that the place that includes coffee and a donut with your meal?! My friend who ownes the Terra in the above pics went to Canada awhile back and told me about them. Sorta makes me want to move there.
Ya thx. Like you said hopefully this shipment is good. I almost puked when i first started seeing threads about stalling, surging and lean spots. It was like dajavu with the stock DR carb again . Not quite as simple as swapping out a main jet or getting a different tapered needle on the Terra. I know its not as dirt worthy as the DR, more towads the KLR side of the dirt/street world. Ive taken my old DR where guys wouldnt take a MX bike. Just found myself riding more fire roads atv trails with a mix of street cuz i couldn't find anyone else who was willing to get their bike dirty!! So it should fit my new riding style. Ive been folloing the MOD's and skid plate threads to find the parts i like and the best prices. lol yup im actually drinking a Tim Hortons coffee right now.
