CH Racing's Antoine Meo riding a '10 TE250 in the E1 class was the team's leading rider today. He was a close second in his class behind winner Mika Ahola. Meo won the BMW Extreme Test Award for fastest combined times in the Extreme Test on Day 1. Championship E1 Class leader Ahola, was amazed at how fast Meo rode the last Extreme Test today. Other CH Racing riders..... Bart Oblucki was third in E2 and Seb Guillaume third in E3
I thought this was a interesting quote from WEC. It looked like David was doing OK earlier in the tests. David KNIGHT (GB-BMW), always in lack of confidence with his motorbike, decided to give up.
Juha seems to be coming to grips with the BMW (2nd place E2), but Knight is still struggling for some reason. So much for the often used comment, that DK could win with a wheelbarrow!
From Ahola on Meo in Finland: “I couldn’t believe that Antoine was so fast in the last Extreme Test. He has beaten me in all the Cross Tests. It was tight and I was becoming tired. I was confident I could win the day but finally Antoine was surprising, and I ended up with 0.8 seconds. This Grand Prix is a special event for me, my Moto Club organizes it, so I really wanted to win.” Sounds like Meo has finally found the form (and the bike) to k/ass in E1
Meo and Seistola are both proving to be forces to recon with, and prove that Husky management is making good decisions are gathering future champions. Now hopefully they can keep KTM from buying the young fast guys. Ahola is a true champion (like Salminen) and is consistantly fast everytime he rides, regardless of terrain, and rarely go down and have time loosing injuries. Hopefully Meo is not riding on the edge and on the brink of having a time loosing injury. Anyway, very exciting to see Meo and the new 250f raging.
Day 2 update Except for Gillaume falling back to 7th in E3, the Husky top men were pretty much the same on Day 2. They just need a tic more to hit the Top Step of the Podium.
