So here is a funny story. It is time to replace my sons 2000 KTM 250 exc. I have been looking at a couple bikes and come upon this 2011 Gasgas EC 300. So we go look at it. I'm bsing with the guy and mention that I have a Husky WR 250. He said oh ya what year is it. I tell him 2007. He said who did you buy it from. I tell him and he say's that's my old bike. I end up buying the Gasgas from him. My son is super excited knowing he is getting the Husky or the Gasgas depending on which one I like better.

I sure will. We will be out riding all weekend. Curious how it will compare to the Husky. The Gasgas is a 300 and the Husky a 250 but the Husky is one beast for a 250.

And soon there will be an option to buy a new GasGas with the Italian Husky engines !!

Here is my take after a couple rides out in the desert. The GG definitely has more bottom end than the Husky. It is a 300 though. Along with that is more vibration. Not terrible but noticeable. The Husky handles better. The GG handles awesome it just takes more rider input to get it there. That's fine with me I like to dance on the bike as I say.

Everywhere you read they talk about how good the GG handles in the tight woods. I was concerned out in the desert at high speed that handling would be twitchy. However to my surprise it was not.

All in all I am happy with the bike. My son of course is stoked that he get's the Husky. I'm happy that we have a great arsenal of bikes to ride.

Two great bikes; congrats. I had a 2010 GG 300 and let a friend that hates two strokes ride it........he ended up bugging me until I sold it to him that day. Enjoy.

That's a bad ass bike, thanks for the comparison. It will be a while until my 11 year old can ride my bike, but I love to thrash his kx60. I can't think of anything I enjoy more than riding with my son. That's cool that you got both bikes from the same original buyer, looks like it was well maintained, enjoy.

PS: Did you do anything with the WR250s kickstand?

Nice machine! I have a 2011 EC 300 with e start. Its awesome. Btw, there was a clearance problem between the case and the impeller on some of the 2011 gassers. See this link,
    http://www.gasgasrider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=14764&highlight=impeller&page=19

Page 19 of the thread shows photos of my install of the recall gasket and impeller cover with a new high capacity impeller and spacer. Check yours and make sure there is clearance for the impeller.

I have not done anything with the kickstand. I have a little bungy thing that we use when it is in it's up position. 11 it wont be long. My son was on a 250 at 13.

Moto7man thanks for the info. I will look into it. I did ask him if it had the stock impeller because I know people change them out. He said it was the stock plastic one and that some of the aftermarkets didn't fit correct. Looks like an informative thread I will be reading thru.
