I am posting this in the RACING section becuse that is where I live.I live to race not live to ride so racing is where I want to be.
    OK Here is my problem
Started in 2008 with a new 2008 CR 125 that year I won the # 1 plate in the Nationals Hare and Hounds races against the open class, then in 2009 2010 2011 finished 2nd and for 2012 finished 3rd all on the same bike.
I NEED A NEW BIKE Really need a 250 or 300 to run up front in the open class BUT why should I buy a new out dated Husky 2 stroke. I do have both a Husky 250 and 300 2 stroke and have spent a bunch of money on they. They are nice but dated and the 2013 look just like my 2006.
Is there a new 2 stroke on the way ????? I will hold on for awhile but just tell me the truth
I want to win again and a new bike will help me do that

On a side note Walt the 165 is ready to do battle again can you beleive I will once again show up with a 2008 bike, 165 and try and beat the open class.BECAUCE you still make the best bike Husky has to offer

HUSKY please let us know is there a new bike comming

Not sure on your dilemma but I'm hoping the EFI 2T are perfect out of the box because anything less and someone is gonna be disappointed ...

I sure hope they get something out for your sake and their own. I went for full day of testing on all the new Husaberg models and let's just say the the bar is set quite high with their 2 strokes!...and 4 strokes for that matter! But after racing another GNCC of my TC449, I still wouldn't trade it....not just yet!

KTM has a fuel injected 2 stroke on the test bench right now, I hear Husqvarna has the same.

2014-2015 is the target for all the manufactures to step up to 2 st DFI. Euro standards driving that.

you can get one for 2K less than a KTM or Berg or GG and use that money to do the suspension and other bits and have a setup race bike for the same cost as a stock bike from someone else. Just a thought to span the year or 2 until the new bikes come. (and we hope are good)

I've heard the very same thing through the grape vine. Looks like Husky will be at least 2015....maybe late 2014.

If this is the case, then please make a folder where all the crying and backlash can go so that the rest of us do not have to endure the stream of crying that is gonna happen on the subject for another 2 yrs ...

Is the 250/300 not in the newest-style frame?? The engine may be a bit long in tooth, but it still is a reliable and powerfull motor with much hop-up potential. While it may lack glamour, I find it hard to believe that it flat-out isn't competetive, especially if the 165 is??

I have done just that for 2013 racing season. My 2008 CR 165 is getting old and I see no reason to get a new one.So I threw the check book at my 2011 WR 300 Now it has Cr electronics and a carb of my 2006 Wr 250 and it runs great. Now onto the suspention last year I got a Ohlein TTX rear shock and the back works perfect but the front can not keep up so I just ordered a set of Ohlein
TTX Factory front forks from David at Fast Bike Industries in North Carolina They cost about as much as I spent on the bike BUT this is the last thing I need to make the 300 the best it can be.I will ride it for another year or so.I have enought spare parts to last for some time.If I would to change brands other then the original 10,000 buy in the cost of spares is another 5,000 so for now I will wait. The new forks will be here next week and i will post pictures and a ride report.

As for Marzochi they do not care about Motorcycles in the USA I tried for over 1 and a half years to get a set of the new 48 mm forks.Even worked direct with the factory and Peado the man himself who is a super guy and really tried to help me BUT
The answer I got was that Marzocki is really into Mountain bikes suspention in the USA

How much tax are you paying in Kalifornia? OTD pricing on the Spanish "devil bikes" is mid 8s here in the Midwest, and low and behold they can also be shipped. Better yet perhaps is the fact that they come stock with Marzocchi closed-chamber forks.

WR250/300 are in the same basic frame that has been used since 1999. It has had minor tweaks in 2002 but is essentially the same frame since 1999, maybe earlier. It isn't that it handles poorly at all it is just a matter of the new frames on the 125 and ex-lites works better.

Calif tax is 7.75 then add on all the stuff needed to custon fit it as a personally set up bike the price is over 10k plus shipping plus then I have no spares Plus the Marzocchi forks that come on the bike from the factory are not the new
Factory race type forks I was trying to get. I will keep my eye out on all the new 2 strokes comming and be ready for a change in a few years if husky does not update

    John,
I'm not Husky, however; there is a sort of solution here and Walt does have it and you know all about it.
Plus you can garner Husky contingency bucks again.
Buy a new (MY12-13) 125/144, do the 165 mod and race the piss out of her. Use the OEM KYB suspenders (they do all come KYB now right?), anyway have the suspension dialed in. Or just put your hi end Ohlins stuff on the new 165.
Ride and race a no-low hour machine ( remember every metal part has fatigue life and your machines have lots of race time).
Also remember the new semi perimeter chassis is very nice and modernized in it's dims and layout, in its 4 stroke config it has 3 world enduro championships.
So continue the tradition of Nat H&H 50A winning/podium competition on a Husqvarna based machine. Most all the modern teams re-engineer and redesign with their own flavor the base model machines anyway. Think JGR MX those guys have fully re-engineered YZFs with probably more than 25% of their own (R&D) designed and built parts on the bikes.

Answer to question- get a new/newer tech CR125/144 motor boost it to WB165 spec, carb it, pipe it, suspend it and race it. Oh yea put your own design Ajax graphics on it so you make it your own, but with the contingency qualified visible Husqvarna logos, gotta look cool too.
best regards and fully understand your issue, RN

I will give the 300 one more chance. If I can hang onto it, it is so much faster then my 165
It should handle great so I will keep you posted as the new forks will be here soon
There is no way I am changing brands this year so will work with wht I have for now
