    Huskydoggg,

That ad got me too. To the tune of 2 1/2 bills. I have always had a soft spot for trick hand-welded components though.

    Proform pipes look interesting too.

Very nice pipe and yes the hand welds really do it for me also. I may need one for my 82 430XC? Does anyone know anything about the proform pipes? Do they all allow you to mount the stock silencer? Thanks. Mike

    highdez,

Scoot is out in the Mancave. Bike is "home-made". I've been working on it for about year now. Remove, repair, refinish one component at a time. Slow, but fun!!! Getting very close to reassembly.

Not steetable yet. Not anything yet. Currently, alot of restored components waiting on frame sand blasting and powder.

In TX street legal means: moto insurance, safety inspection (front and rear lights, brake light, horn and mirror), take the appropriate paperwork to the registrars office pay their registration fees and walk out w/ plate.

    Hey Schim.
What do you think about the quality and fit of the retro rocket pipe?

I am thinking of getting a pipe and trying to decide V.I. or pro-form.

Can you tell me the distance from the frame mount hole (the one that attaches to the dual stud rubber mount) and the end of the stinger?

    And is the stinger O.D. 1 1/4" ?

    Thanks,
    Darrell

    Highdez,
Sorry for leaving you hanging. Stinger OD is 1 3/8". From mounting tab to end of stinger is 13 1/2". PMed you.

    Anyone w/ knowledge,

Question regarding this Vintage Iron pipe for the 81-82' 430s. Does this look like the right pipe (the plated one)? Upon closer examination and an attempt at final mounting - not very similar to stocker. This one will require some serious cutting grinding welding and bending to truly fit scoot. As it sits - doesn't mount up. Way off. Looks like a 390 pipe - maybe? I don't know and am confused.

    Thanks in advance,
    Rick

Sure, it looks like more at a 390 pipe than a 430 pipe !

I've got a Vintage Iron 430 pipe and it looks nothing like that. I'd say 390

    Bultokid,
If at all possible, could/would you post up a photo of yours? I sure would like to see what a 430 pipe looks like before I even attempt calling V.I. about resolving wrong pipe issue.
