Love the shot of the Matador.:applause:

Although, strangley most people I knew who hunted with motorcycles used the humble little Honda CT90 and 110 models.

I also like the part about whether or not you should use a helmet. Those were the days.

If you carry out your deer slung on your back - cover with your brightest orange hunting jacket! :D

Don't want to be used for target practice :)

I wonder if Kelly's rear racks could hold up a mule deer? The subframe might not

"Don't trust an engine with more than 1 hp / 10cc"... those were the days.

I rode a 68 Matador for several years. It was a simple bike that gave me great service. Sold it to my brother. He rode it for a few years and sold it one of his friends. A very versatile bike. 68 was the first year of the 5 speed gearbox. I think the only difference in 69 was the polished engine side covers.

I have stories to tell about deer hunting on a early 250 Elsinore. At the time that article was written there may very well been good reason to not want a high HP bike when hunting.:professor:

    Important safety message!!!

Never strap you're hunting rifle across you're handlebars, it can get snagged on things like trees and rocks. There is also the potential for it to pinch you're throttle cable which may leave you trying to deal with the above mentioned hazard @ hyper-speed.:o
