Well at least in the 50A class Once again my Husky 300 was the bike to have at Rd 8 of the AMA Nationals This one was held in the hills outside of Reno Nevada. I was the only bike to finish in my class no other bike or rider made the complet course. I also finished 17th overall my best National overall finish This course was so tuff and rocky it took me 5 hours to do 60 miles I would rate this one up there with King of the Moto. With 2 round to go and a 50 point lead I might just pull off another # 1 Plate Will try to post my video soon
All the Beta Boys were on 300 for this race It was hot rocky and tuff the Beta crew felt the 2 strokes were a better bike then the 4 strokes for this round
1st Overall Jake Argubright, 2nd Overall Kurt Caselli, 3rd Overall Ivan Ramirez! This seems to be correct from Nat. H&H facebook page.
Talk about a good advert for reliability---- 4 Betas in the top 10 OA. niiice And our friendly San Diego local fast kid Justin Morgan 10th OA at the Nat!! nice Local shop owner/new Beta dealer, Steve G gets 2nd 40B to move into 1st 40B for the 13 season. nice Just talked with Steve, he left his CRF450 at home and rode his Kato300 for this one (SMART) For all the CH members 50A rider John Ajax Kearney finished top 20 in a National H&H and in the only group of 21 that did all the 3 loops! This is the most technical of the Nat H&Hs. There are alot of very fast Nat class riders who finished behind the old guy......(I can you that John!!) Dude you are just a few places behind H&H/Baja/Dakar Rally legend Paul Krause!! Great ride Mr. Extremo!!
Robert I will get my video all edit tonight and try to post What was good about this race was after the start you did a short run up the hill and thru scoreing and then by the pits.As I went by the pits my crew told me I was in first I knew all the numbers of the guys in my class so I just rode a good pase and made sure anyone who passed was not in my class. At the end of loop 2 scoreing told me I was the only one left so I just cruized loop 3 and went for a finish. The Husky 300 with the Ohlins suspention flat just works great I bet if you rode it you would forget about that Beta. Yes I know there were alot of Betas there but that is because of team Purvine Also note all the Betas there were all 2 strokes Mike Kay was there on a new Beta 450rr but something happen as he did not finish loop 1
Next bike will be 300cc 2T...brand?? truth is my 2011 TE310 would have been good at that race (no comment on the 2013 yet..). Steve yold me the heat was in 90 range- thats what would do me in.
Sounds like you had a good ride! I'll see you at the next national in panaca Nevada on my husky 300 as it's hosted by my series' club!
