Dwight, We are glad to have you back.....you should have gotten a "paid my time in hell discount" on your 150 for having suffered the arduous challenge of riding an 82 WR125 in the brutally difficult 1982 ISDE in Czechoslovakia!! Are you now trying to say if Suzuki re-introduces the 2 stroke PE line that you will jump ship? LOL! Joe

If they still made a PE175 with disc brakes I would have one. I loved that bike.... Maybe that is why I like the WR150 - it's the closest bike to the PE I've found.
As much as I liked my PEs , I love the Husky. I liked the handling of my 1982 XC / WR 125 but it was marginal in power and torque. All those damn hills I had to push and crawl up in Provaska Bysticia, Czechoslovokia,.......Well, I still have nightmares ! The WR150 is wonderful compared to the old 125. ( http://vimeo.com/2956901 ) I am #30 struggling up the rain soaked hill about minute 14 in the video. Now I loved the XC250 I rode in the 1983 Nat'l Enduros I rode to 5th OA (OA "A", 1st 250A) for the year !
I just had an 83 WR430 out l2 weeks ago and no BS...I would "almost" put that old ITC twin shock rear up against anything today! I had Drew Smith at WER wave his wand over a set and rebuilt them and all I can say is wow.....nice smooth and even has a vlave inside that stiffens the last inch of shaft travel exponentially so supple over bumps but wont bottom over jumps....technology that was the grandfather of todays suspension.
Got to love that video! From the Gypsy caravan pits and the no shirt coverall wearing blacksmith looking fellow changing tires bare handed (at 0:32 to 0:45) to the awsome Czech iron curtain tire changing stand made from an old T-34 Tank roadwheel and the liberal use of probably Military Surplus chemical decontamination powder on the inner tubes! (at 1:35). Got to love the look of the "rougues gallery" at about 2:00 of the "Senior Party Officials" who undoubtedley played a part in ensuring the Czech team wins that year. Bizzare and entertaining is the Czech gymnastics team doing stunts with what appear to be gigantic cheese molds (at 4:50). It was a real gnarly ISDE and one must turn a blind eye to the outside assistance to riders from 10:53 to 12:30. The day 6 MX pass for the lead right through the ribbon at 16:48 is a classic too. Great Stuff Dwight in your achievement in 82. The look on the faces of the US riders at 9:11 says it all. Joe
Yep the entertainment was a little bazaar ... And what's a good EU movie without some elderly women with shawls over their heads? It was all high tech \ cutting edge in its day .... What were you doing there Dwight when not on the bike?
