I'm a new husqvarna owner and ride a lot of tight trails here in south jersey and discovered how much of a pain the shrouds are since they stick out so far and they are two pieces that fit together by a little plastic tab that broke off almost instantly.I came up with an little easy solution and all though it is minor I thought I would share.I took two pieces of thin aluminum maybe about a 1/16 thick and 1 inch wide and bent them in the vise so there is about a 1/8 slot for the black tab on the lower shroud will slip into.Feels a lot stronger but can still pull out on a big hit.You can either use two small screws or rivet them on.

I like the idea, but lets see a pic of the other side...

    Here was my solution:

I drill two holes in the lower shroud and two holes in the upper shroud and run cable ties between them. Put the one cable tie as close as possible to the front to keep foliage from catching in between. I have to cut them to remove the tank, so I keep a couple with me on the trail just in case. This setup is super strong and will prevent broken shrouds as well as bent tabs on the radiators.

That's a good idea with the zip tie now that I think about it every ride I'm pulling brush from in between the two pieces.

I ripped mine off on the second ride. I never fixed them yet, but may try one of these fixes. Strangely, it only happened on my WR300. I have ridden my TE450 in the same places, and have had the bike since it was new in 2007....but no damage to that one yet.

I broke mine too very shortly after I got my 07 TE450....did a similar zip tie thing. Waiting to break them on my 12 Wr144.......it's coming.....I gave up on having good looking plastics and shiney decals on my woods bikes back when I was a B rider....you get to a point that you realize that it is a very expensive and never ending battle to look "pretty" when riding trails........I don't even wash them until I need to work on them.

I've got duct tape holding my right one on. It ripped off where it bolts to the tank.

Don't you're pants get caught on the bottom part of the upper shroud? Mine do and i still have both pieces in tact. Why can't husky make a one piece shroud, my bike always looks like crap because of this.In the last HS i did the front inch and a half of the upper right shroud got broken off. This is really dumb s@#t..

Never had my pants get caught. And those are my back-up pants. My normal pants are over-the-boot and even baggier, but again, never had that happen.

A Better idea is to just drill 2 hole in lower shroud and cable tie to slot in upper shroud on inside unless already broken, at least this way you wont see it from the outside!

I ride in Eastern PA in the coal region single track trails and always come back with some tree bits and the tabs apart on the WR. Im gonna trim them down and rivet those things. Gdamn middle bolts in the gas tank wouldnt come out either so the shroud rests over the bolts. That kills me! Anyone ever come up with a solution or technique to get those bolts out of the tank? The nutserts on my tank just spin and spin...

Hi guys just posted these pics of how I cable tie top shroud to lower shroud so you don't see anything from the outside of shrouds!
