I have a spanking brand new TC125 sitting in the shop. It is beautiful and I can't wait to get it dirty. I also have a box with a very nice factory 150(144cc) kit. Over the next couple of months I will be doing quite a bit of fun kind of setups for this bike that might be of value to anyone else looking at this bike.

A list of the changes I will be trying and documenting:

Dyno results 125 vs 144 vs ported 144
Lectron installation with accompanying dyno comparisons
Possible 155 big bore kit but only if Husky is going to offer a stock 144cc equipped model

I won't be doing much from a suspension point of view simply because I am not qualified to make recommendations there. I will simply be installing the correct springs for my fat ass and working with the stock clickers.

I am sure I will also at some point be installing an auto clutch and left hand rear brake but that will be down the road a bit. But I am looking forward to seeing how a complete Rekluse setup works with this new motor/frame/suspension.

Huge shout out to Bill's Motorcycles Plus for getting me setup with this fine scoot. Bill and the guys are just the best. Also want to thank Norman Foley for stoking the fire in an old guy to try something new.

Stay tuned for pics and more blather.

Does it have the dual map wire? If it does, will you install a map switch?

Yes it does Norman. I will install a remote switch too. Will be very easy to add this to all the dyno runs.

Between my mom fracturing her other hip at 88 on Thanksgiving to my wife destroying her knee this past weekend and now recovering in the hospital from major surgery, I can't seem to muster the needed travel/mod time to work on the bike. The dyno I use is 50 miles away on winter roads that have been really crappy this winter. Its an all day proposition for each test and just need to get it started. I have already pulled apart all the chassis bearings and re-greased and bike is ready. I will say grease levels were better than my experience with prior factory greasing, I just used a better quality of water resistant grease.

You told me about your mom and sorry about your wife.... quick recovery to them both.

I'm so on the edge of buying this bike.... Logic says hold off until the '17 TE comes out, but emotion says go for it! Emotion won out last time, jumping on the TE125 early, paying full retail to do it and now seeing them going cheap. The big bonus though... I got a full season on a great bike, I just should have done the 150 conversion sooner!

It's been a long time since I've had a MX only bike and to this enduro guy, it's a pain..... No lights, no side stand, small tank (really spoiled by stock translucent tanks on Husy and Husky). We'll see how long I can hold out!

I'm looking forward to this thread. For some reason I believe the 200 lb 125-200 cc bike would be the perfect combo for an old guy like me... or maybe it's because I spent so much of my youth on a YZ125.

    Walt,

Sorry to hear about the ladies, I'm sure they are in good hands and I hope for speedy recoveries!

I will follow along, always interested in what you are cooking up with the machinery.

And thanks for your help in the past.

I am a bit concerned with fitment but will be getting one anyway. I sent Pictures of the mounting arrangement to Lectron. Will be picking up a 19" street tire this week to start the dyno runs.

Silly question ! Do you guys not get the TE version with the 18" rear / lights / stand ect that us euros get ?
Walt looking forward to your thoughts on the bike, I rode KTMs version and while the engine was a cracker it sure was hard work in the mud and is not in the same class as your 165 creation.

They said they have fitted three so far so we are not breaking new ground. What I don't know is if the air box has any changes. At the dealer I had yours and mine together and I didn't see anything different.
Paid for mine last week so I will post you a picture once it shows up.
