Hi, I'm just new to this forum and need some help with my 2007 Husqvarna Te 510 i recently purchased. The neutral light built into the speedo will not come on at all when i place the bike into neutral. I like to have everything working properly on my bikes and really want it to work again. The LED in the speedo isn't blown as if i remove the main fuse from the bike and after a while place it back in, the speedo goes through a test phase of a couple of seconds and the neutral light turns on briefly then turns off again once the startup is complete. I've been searching all over the bike and looking at the wiring diagrams and cannot seem to find why this its not working. I'm very good at working on motorbikes and can do everything myself all i need is some help from some of you husky riders that may have had the same problem and how did you fix it or any possible solutions . Please help everyone Also two pictures of the bike
Congratulations on purchasing a great bike! Hopefully someone will be able to provide input on your neutral light issue, perhaps the wire down low near the shifter?
Hi thanks, it seems fairly good and cannot wait to spend more time riding it. I've already checked the resistances of each gear from the gear position sensor as per the manual and there isn't anything wrong with that or the wire. That was my first thought but its not the issue. Thanks for replying
I have an '07 SMR 510 (same bike as yours, really)...and my issue is slightly different. The green neutral light will just come on when I'm rolling in 5th gear. Weird. One of things I figured I'd get to when winter comes and the riding season is over. I'd be interested in hearing what you find out...if something pops up? Thanks.
Interested if you figured this out. I have same issue. Light bulb is not blown, and when I plug in iBeat the gear postions sensor correctly shows all gears and neutral, but still the light doesn't want to light up when I'm in neutral? Cheers, JB
Hey thanks for the reply. Yeh I tested the resistance of the gear position sensor for each gear including neutral and all the resistances are within spec. I didn't end up solving the problem as the speedo got a bit of water damage and I ended up taking it off completely. But now I want it back on so when I get a chance I'll plug it back in. Just need to solder in some new parts that had the water damage or buy a new speedo. Wish I had solved the problem, maybe I'll be able to figure it out when I either put the speedo on or get a new one. I recon though that the problem will have something to do with the resistance of neutral perhaps the speedo isn't recognising the resistance or something if that makes sense.
