Can anybody (mabye a dealer) answer a couple of questions for me: 1: how long is the warranty for a new Husqvarana 510 te 09? 2: is the dealer required to include the power up kit with the new purchase of a 510 te? I ask the above because I just bought a new 510 te 09 at a CA dealership and they stated that the powerup kit was additional ($300) and only gave me the optional back light fixture and the un-restricted air filter basket. Thay also said (before my own research) that husqvarna only gave a 6 month warranty. They then sold me a extended warranty for 2 years which was activated @ 6 months. If according to my research the factory warranty is for 24 months then i bought a 2 year warranty cost for only 6 months. I will not post the name of dealership untill I get concrete answers and then can approach them first, hopefully fixing the situation. The dealership is located in california.
Over here in OZ..Bike comes with 2yr warranty with an option to up it to 5yrs. The performance parts comes WITH the bike from point of sale.."COMES WITH THE BIKE". Sorry i know this doesnt help you over there much ..just figure it'd be the same. Best of luck sorting it out.
In the good old US of A, TE 250/310/450/510 have a 6-month warranty and TE 610 has a one year warranty. I suspect that this was decided at the dealers meeting last fall. PU kit is in the crate of all '09 TE 250/310/450/510. Some dealers give it to the new owner and some don't. Your dealer is batting .500; not good enuff for me
As said before.........warratny in US on TE is 6 months..........OZ is 2 years as that is what the importer (Feeney Group) decided. PU for 09 comes in crate and all fit in a shoe box. Dealer is supposed to give it. Sounds like your dealer is misreading the 08 PU kit price as it comes on/with the 09 bike. Husky needs more dealers but more of the dealers like uptite, botones, moto exotica, taskys, halls, upstate, bills, bishop, etc. Guys who love em...........not just cause there 50 state legal. Joe
While I can't speak for CA delivered bikes as they may have had to do something different for CA (imagine that ) The rest of the 49 state 2009 DOHC HSQ's that are street legal get a 6 month factory warranty and all the items for the PowerUp Kit are inclusive with the bike. This is to include the O2 eliminator sender plug, exhaust plug, air filter cage and rear tag bracket w/out tag light (installation optional/extra but included in crate). The rest of the de-restriction process involves removing catalyst and throttle stop. For 2008 the HSQ factory had a very strong stand on the installation of the PowerUp Kit voiding any engine related warranty claims, this was certain as of October when I last spoke with factory rep/trainer. They may have changed their stance on the 2009's since the power-up kit is now inclusive, but I don't think so as the training involved 2009 product. However the aftermarket warranty should not care regardless and will kick in after the 6 months is up. To the aftermarket warranty company, the power-up kit is an OEM piece of equipment and it's unlikely their administrators will know the HSQ corporate policy on the matter. The 09's run significantly better with the Power-up kit installed and personally I would have my personal TE/SM powered up after the first heat cycle/test ride and it was determined to have no obvious manufacturing defects.
Thanks for the responses on this. I approached my dealer and they had no problem giving me the kit and said they just overlooked it. Now it runs great.
good to see you guys are getting what you should now. Seems crazy that US is over a year behind what we were getting, but with the volumes of bikes & restrictions there it must have been a nightmare for Husky to fight through.
