Obviously most of you are aware of this thread...

    http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/i-rode-the-prototype-wr200-and-it-is-amazing.22209/

Thought I would start one here in the Motosportz area so we can discus the delivery and associated items for this project. We will discus costs, processes and what people might want additionally for these bikes.

right now the kit is going to be about $680 with exchange cylinders. Replacement pistons will be $155 and rings $32.

We also plan to offer pipes and other goodies as we get have them. I might see if Coffee can create a sub forum under this one for the WB165 as i think this is going to get messy.

We are going to build other things for the WB165 project and would like feedback and suggestions. My thoughts right now are...

    - Longer CNC billet kick starters. the 165 kit could really use them.
    - fancy red case savers and other nice functional bling items for these bikes
    - Graphics kit with Motosportz and WB165 on them (need to gauge interest) Will have examples soon.
    - Custom pipes
    - Robust full coverage custom aluminum skid plate (you are going to be going faster :D)
    - Re gearing packages (chain and sprocket combos suited for the WB165)
    - Polished cylinders and red heads as requested.
    - Might build some CNC machined pipe outlets so these could be welded to the pipe of your choice at your end (simplifies the trying different pipes/ experimenting)
    - Might even do up some steerig dampers with WB165 lazer engraved on the top. (pimp your ride :))

I would appreciate feedback on what people might want and other thoughts for this project.

    Thank you,
    Kelly

I have a great idea. You need a test mule on the East Coast! Send me a complete WB 165 with all the bling and I will arrange test rides at my favorite riding areas. I'll send it back when it stops running or I (errrrrr, I mean the test riders) finally destroy it in a few years. Now THERE'S a deal!:D

If you do case savers it would be nice to have a synthetic option... like the high density plastic ones TM designs sells for some applications.

Longer kick-starters is a great idea!!!

Case savers is also a great idea, but your to late!!! Ordered one from BMP a couple weeks ago..

    Skid Plate! Sign me up!

I love the graphics idea, etc.... Keep moving forward with the upgrades for this bike! I LOVE it

For the $680 do you receive the initial piston and rings as part of the kit?

Been thinking of adding one of your dampers to my bike. Not really into bling, but I think the WB165 engraving would be kinda cool.
I like the idea of the cnc outlets.
I've yet to kick the 165, but if you're mentioning it, I'd probably give that a go too.
Simple graphics or even just a WB165 for the side panel would interest me.
I'd probably add some functional bling, case saver etc

    Thanks for making cool stuff

I would be interested in the kickstart lever, exhaust pipe, and graphics kit. Another option is a swingarm graphics kit for WB165.
For the exhaust pipe, are you planning to offer one for 2008 bikes? I hope since I have a 2008 CR125... soon to be 165.

Seriously think about adding a bottle of "WB" vintage champage to spray from the top of numerous podiums and a packet of wet-knaps.....to wipe the lipstick off from the trophy girls and also the big old grin you will perpetually have riding one of them!

just a thought and probably not a problem for most of the riders in North America but what is the impact on the cooling department of the engine

as the kit makes more power there is equaly an increase in heat absorption in the cooling system, a higher flow speed of cooland or a bigger cooling resoirvior might not only a luxurey when riding in the tropics.

are there for example different impellers for the water pump or increased radiator surface for the cooling rads.

maybe a small inexpensive 12 v fan and mounting plastics on the radiator that runs on the lighting circuit (WR models of cause).

the kit is so good you might want to also pre-install a prophylactic.

you will be running much less RPM and higher gearing. I bet this engine runs cooler. 155/144 don;t overheat and i bet this will not ether. Walt did 6 days in Cali with the one installed on my bike.

My kit from WB will be here today! I think the biggest need is most definitely is a pipe and true skid plate would certainly be a huge plus.

Im not a huge "bling" person mainly due to budgetary reasons. I would like to see the longer kick starter and pipe options. A skid plate would be really nice. I just picked up one of the older WER skid plates for the 250/360. Its really close to the right fit. Just a little modification needed. Couldnt beat the price. I always liked the simplicity verse coverage they provided. Pipe guards for any pipes that are made would be nice. I always cringed at the prospect of flattening a brand new pipe. Graphics would be awsome but I am tempted to keep the '125' stickers on mine. Just to see people scratch there heads when they get beat!:D

I am seriously thinking about picking up a wr144. At that point I'll want a turnkey solution. WB165 kit, Carb, and Pipe. You don't by chance have a revloc dynaring laying around do you?

I called them this morning. They said they are planning on offering something, but nothing yet.

BTW. I'm looking at an 09 wr144 this weekend.

On the pipe/guard front. I am sending an FMF Fatty for the 200 to Eric Pirie next week. He is going to build a mold that works with that pipe so we will have CF guards available. As far as the pipe goes we are still working on a couple of different fronts to get a pipe designed for this application. It will happen but is probably a spring thing. My initial feeling is the more I fart around with pipes the more I think the FMF Fatty for the 200 sx is the best all around pipe(still more to test). At the very least I can see that basic pipe being available with mounting changes made by someone. But we certainly haven't exhausted the research yet.
