I just want to see if anyone see's it the same way? Our shop just received the new TC449. Now I have seen tons if pics, but there is nothing like seeing one in person. After seeing it every day this week, it is like having a hot looking girl working in the store, I find myself drawn to it. When I line it up with other bikes, to me the new bike makes the other bikes look outdated.
Yep. Try pulling up to a pump on one, draws a crowd. Sucks when you are in a hurry I can get over how lightweight and slim it feels (TE511). Took it on a little DS ride yesterday and it rode manners are impeccable. Super fun bike to own.
really don't like that rear fender, or any of the plastic aside from the front fender. But its okay cause I couldn't afford a new husky even if it did look good.
Aviduser, Do you know of the recent Husky finance deals? (here in the USA) 1.99% for 60 months on '10 and older, 6.99% for 60 months on the '11, both with zero down. Zero down and 1.99% on a new Husky is awesome. They might still be running the promotion. Worth a call to a dealer. I am liking the looks of my new '11 TE 630. I get some saucer eyed stares so I think others like the looks to.
I drooled on the TE449 in Up-tites shop the other day, I like hot looking girls. The new Husky is a very futuristic looking bike for sure, kind of cool if you ask. What I think is going to be a struggle is an aftermarket fuel tank to squeak the desert miles out of it. Time will tell, they sure grow on you the more you look at them.
Yes, hard to believe that Husky put out YET ANOTHER bike with a tank too small. I mean, seriously, all that high tech yummy goodness, and you run out of gas. First things first, OK Husky?
The lack of fuel capacity alone would keep me from buying the bike. My usual offroad rides are about 100 miles. Having to carry gas for my 4 stroke would suck. With my 3.2 gallon tank on my plated 2 stroke I usually don't have to carry gas. It's going to be interesting to see if someone comes out with a bigger tank.
SMALL TANKS That would be the only reason why I would not buy a new Husky 449-511. I Think all dirt bike should have a big tank as an option, at the Isa we ride between 100-200 ks. I guess in Europe you ride from one side of the country to the other on a tank
I don't like the front (bird beak) fender and the rear fender looks like it would funnel mud to the gas cap. I like the looks of all the other plastics. I could never date a girl with fenders like that....
The front fender is a little funky looking but I'll tell you what it is super functional. It is long and wide and keeps crap off you and is well braced and aerodynamic which makes it rock steady at 60-70 MPH unlike many bikes where the front fender is flopping in the breeze. I have had no issues with the rear fender loading up with mud and find it very attractive. My short time with the bike has been very pleasant and rewarding. EFI and motor is perfect, super fun bike to ride and works great on everything from single track to street. Feels extremely light for a big bore DS, hell seems light for any off road 4st.
I kinda like it kinda dont....probably grow on me....like Adviuser...i cant afford one....I work in the m/c industry and the money for me just isnt there..and i absolutely dont finance toys...just my rule...
That is deff. the sexy side of your 511 Kelly. The 449/511 TE can and the lack of a gunsight in some manner on the plastics is the only downer for me. I think I like the 449/511 fenders better then the sumo look on the front of my TE 630. I like how my TE 630 has the gunsight outline on the tank plastics. Husky should keep with the visual signature imo. The new 449/511 do look hella sweet even with the Karoo's. The 630's are part of the new look, right?
yeah, not sure If I do either. However it seems like a great oppurtunity for someone to make and aftermkt streamline pack to mount to the rear fender
Safari Tanks are going to look into making tanks for it for Rallying. It should be pretty easy for them as it has the small feed tank with the pump inside. They did a marvel with the FI husaberg tanks. I agree, much better in the flesh, I am hoping to have a proper ride on a friends, must find a friend...
For DS and trail work it is very good stock. I am kind of a suspension snob but could ride this stock without issues. Works very well. Might be to soft for charging large whoops at speed.
I think they could expand the sub tank beside the motor and add .5-1 gallon pretty EZ. That would be the route to take.
have you seen the newest add-on Husaberg tank? they ( I forget the company) just made the subframe (OEM plastic unit) capable of holding fuel. So if one looks and thinks, there will be a place for more fuel, like you said think about what as little as a 1/2 gal would get you on the 511/449 @xtra 30 miles or so? I am not a betting man, but I would bet a decent sum that ZipTy is hot on that project among other projects.
