I have a problem with my 2012, 310 txc. I can not get a starter, shaft and gears for the starter any where! My dealer has been waiting for 3 weeks now with no parts in site yet. Anybody know where I may find them?
Usual places man...halls cycles, ebay, Craigslist..or use kick start. I would call every local husky dealer.. Who is your dealer?
Hi, thanks for responding! I am in NJ so I tried Central Jersey Cycle. He, Bob is a great person, knowledgeable and explained to me that Husqvarna (or now KTM) is not building the starters any more because they are unhappy over the quality. They are on back order everywhere. I may have to wait for months till they find someone else to tool up and start making them again. I have been kicking it, I actually broke off the kick starter yesterday!! I wanted to ride today. The bike does not start so easily either. I raced a Hare Scramble 2 weeks ago. At 56 years old, I still got it but the 4 or 5 times it stalled, after kicking and kicking I just got worn out. It does not start right up like it should. I am going to try a sweep of all dealers, great idea! I tried KTM.com and they also gave me the same story about back order.
I lucked out. RailroadRog is selling me a starter, ring gear and a bunch of other stuff tomorrow morning!!! But I still need to find the shaft and gear that attaches to the starter. So I am ramping up to call every Husky dealer I can find tomorrow. I am traveling to NYC in the morning to get the stuff, the Jersey Shore to Central Jersey Cycles to get the shaft that the kick starter attaches to that I snapped in half and coming back home to call around for the starter pinion shaft. Wish me luck! And thanks for the advise!
I just got the Rekluse and was setting it up Saturday when I broke off my kick starter. I fixed my kick starter today so tomorrow I will complete the process of adjusting the slave cylinder. I Also got a starter and a bunch of cool stuff from RailroadRog today in NY. He told me about the Toy-Tec in Pa., I called them and they will have all of the rest of the starter parts sent to me. Woohoo!! They should be delivered to me by Friday. I still think my valves need adjusting for my starting issue but I'm going biking Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.
Cool, that would be great. I am hoping to get my parts by the weekend. So if the weather is good and my kids do not want me to take them water skiing, I am in! Which town are you from?
I forgot that my 12 year old son has a swim meet this weekend. I might be free on Sunday. And I am hoping my starter parts will be in by Saturday. Toy-Tec told me today not Friday but maybe Saturday. Have you tried the track on the Turnpike in North Bergan?
I know about it, but never been there. was actually thinking going tomorrow to check it out. any other places you can share? PM pls.
The Turnpike trails are awesome! The moto-cross track must stretch out for at least a mile. If you start at Rt.3 and take the turnpike entrance North. Just before the Vince Lombardi Service area keep looking for a patch of dirt in the grass that goes up-hill into a small patch of woods. Get there early if you go because the parking gets crazy when more then 20 trucks pull in. The Caldwell trails are cool too. I will have to show you the way in there. The Wall township trails are cool too. They are off of Hurbertsville Road across the street from Allaire Airport. Wall Stadium used to be where we would park but now they do not want us to. But if you go into the lot, walk in to the area to the right of the track and you will see the fire road and the big sand pit area.
