Ha. I was gonna say the same thing! I still haven't used the kicker on my 14 KTM 300xcw. Not even once. And I don't plan to.

[IMG] Re: Any update on delivery?

    I'm ecstatic!

The short version- it runs like a 2014 300XC except for the lower first gear and less harshness in the forks. When compared to my '09 250XCW with a 300XC kit and 330 hours on it it's a completely different bike of course. Better in every way.

    Before riding I...
Installed Maxxis SI front with a bib mousse and for the rear a Maxxis Maxxcross IT with a UHD tube at 9 lbs. This is my benchmark set-up.

Set the suspension exactly per the book. 100mm race sag, 34mm free with full gear, full tank and standing in the attack position. Forks on second line down.

Installed TC2. Lighter by some measure than the stock silencer by the way.

    Chassis observations...
It goes straight, without a stabilzer, in nasty doll heads! The front is very well planted for a 2 stroke on the rocky downhills. It's A rider stiff but not overlly harsh (I'm a +50 B- rider). It stays up in the stroke, at this early stage. Overall front end traction is perfect. Look where you want to go and you're golden. It never ever pushed on flat or offcamber hardpack. Compared to the '09 I don't have to have my chin over the bars, a real plus on a four hour ride. Forward bite in loose rocky climbs is outstanding.

I'm liken' the wheels over my black anodized units on my '09. Tougher finish and the matte look is cool. No loose spokes yet.

    Motor top end...
My gut tells me this runs way more like a 2014 300XC. Not like the 300XCW demo bike I rode in Jan. This motor has crazy torque off the bottom. Haven't rung its neck yet. It's a tad rich in the transition from pilot to needle.

    Tranny...
USA final gearing is 13/50, EU is 14/50. First gear is quite low. The torque multiplication coupled with the strong low end makes this combination wicked powerfull.

    It shifts very smoothly.

What am I installing this week?...
Fastway link, set at stock length. Bike is tall but it works way to good to mess with the ride height. Bulletproof rad guards. Rekluse Core 3.0.

    Closing thoughts...
I had a buddy ride it who has a 2014 250XC magazine bike (fully dialed) and he was very impressed with the entire bike and thought that it will break in nicely for our conditions. Will it need a revalve? If it stays that stiff yes. If it softens up a little, maybe not.

Does that help Mike? Oh crap, I need to get back to work!

The more I look at these new 2 strokes, the more I like them. I had to save the picture on my phone to post robertaccio's bike here and was staring at it for awhile at work lol. The reviews are making it even worse, I need someone to talk about how much they suck :)

When I was 16 I uncrated about 200 new bikes at the local Honda/Kawasaki dealer that summer. Got to sample them all, including the first 900 Kawi. It was all fun ....and I got paid (so I could go racing, of course)!!

This Husky tiger has been released and its pulling SP all over the place!

    --
I'm not trying to know anything here, but the people making the current ktm bikes know what they have ...They can maybe change that bike (if is truly the same frame and engine), by tweaking the gear ratios, suspension, maybe bars, seat, <whatever?>, and you get a new feeling bike ...

Until further notice, SP is still a Juggernaut ...

PS: Norm, you really know how to use the power of the internet!!!
