Loading up for a ride this morning and poked around seeing what clearances were and fuel started pouring out the hose. Thought the worst that the petcock had impacted the water pump and fractured. Just what I needed to deal with. Luckily that band clamp was the culprit, just loose enough to rotate, but a PIA to remove and replace with a Zip tie.

i hate those things too (forgot the proper name) but there is a special tool that makes removal/installation easier.

i would maybe use some safety wire or a different style clamp on that. if the ziptie plastic or teeth aren't good quality, it may let go on you. (happens all the time to me with the cheap bucket of ties you see at hardware stores)

Yeah, those clamps are a nuisance. I used fuel injection hose clamps on mine.

To the best of my knowledge there are only 2 people in the world that like those clamps. The guy who sells them and the engineer who specs them.

Yes... From the Sears Buckets of ties I thought a good value till I noted how scrawny most were. May simply add a second tie for security/redundancy in the interim and always carry them in my tool wrap.

Are those the same as sharkbite clamps or different?

Was a Sharkbite. At some point after a dealer service I found my fuel hose stretched to the end of that barb since they placed the tank on the spark plug and wires and didn't route the hose properly. That's when this clamp was damaged/loosened.
