Has wiku spoofer and throttle response is sad. Help me make this right. I am good with programmers. Tell me what, how and keep it focused on question.
    Thanks

I should add that this is comparison to my ktm 530 exc. Less hp, lighter (125lbs). But come on this bike has potential. Help me make this right

    Hi, welcome to the Cafe

First thing I recommend, may or may not help, is new spark plugs. Much success has been seen with the Brisk Multispark and Pulstar plugs. For me it made my bike amazing, no more bogging.

Welcome, be positive it is good bike, but it takes a lot of work to get it to being a nice bike to ride.
There is lots of good info here and some cr*p too, but the guys are all generally helpful and I have learned plenty from them all.

In order to enjoy the TR650 you have to have an open mind, plenty of time, a few $ and a fair amount of mechanical ability.
I look upon mine as a 'work in progress' which keeps me occupied when I am not in the market pricing other lemons.

    Enjoy the ride.

Its never going to feel responsive like your 530. The crank in the 650 weights as much as the whole 530 motor (joking but you get the idea). Its build for slow reving smooth torque.

    ...why did you buy it....?

If you compare apple with apple, its way smoother engine with strong mid top end than anything else, its the most modern (not a 20+ year old design), more economical than anyting else and not everyone has one. Its a great bike and now a classic:).

This bike is a dream doing what it was made to do. The Terra is the closest thing to a dual sport adventure bike out there. It was built to a price point that allows guys like me to own a machine with a super high quality motor, decent frame and suspension, and crappy components. It has a few known problems that are easily remedied in most cases. If it isn't a stumbler you have the makings of a great machine. On a recent trip to Colorado my TR roasted every DR and DRZ that was with me. It was the only machine that didn't give us problems for the duration of the trip which included hundreds of miles of slab, dirt roads, and trails from 8,000 to 12,500 feet. It stumbled one morning when it was cold but quickly warmed up and did great.

Calling a 400lb bike with 60HP a turd means you are using it wrong or have uninformed expectations. You'll be hard pressed to find any bike in this class with more usable torque. Just remember, no matter how much money you spend on your Acura NSX is is never going to handle like an open wheel racer. It's design is different because it's intended purpose is different. Turning your NSX into an open wheel racer will never get you what you want.

With this bike you just dont have someone holding your hand. Sure it has some problems but i suspect most here and at adv love a problem to solve.
If you do and as long as the problem has a solution then this bike, for the price, offers much.

Hell you cant spend every second riding esp in winter. You need something to do on those days.. cup of coffee a dry shed a tr650....you wont get bored.
Personally i wish there were more around especially where i live , even one other would be nice.
Good to share notes and solutionsin real time.

I will say that the terrarists here and adv are a source of inspiration. !
